Happy New Year!
Out with the old, and in with the new, right? I’ve heard from so many people – who, like me – had a 2017 that was full of super-highs, and super-lows. Time to turn the page, and begin the next chapter: 2018!
What does the new year have in store for you? For me, it’s always about “taking stock” and evaluating what’s working, and what’s not. Of course, I do this throughout the year, too; but the beginning of the year is always a reminder that it’s time to start with a clean slate. Sometimes you have to clean the old one off first!
Whether it’s your diet, fitness routine, wardrobes, relationships, habits, careers, beauty regimes – they all deserve examining from time to time. Is your status quo serving you well, and helping you reach your goals? If not, it’s time to make changes. And, you also need to take some time making those changes. I’ve had the best success implementing and committing to change, when I really take time to evaluate why my current strategies aren’t working.
But, don’t get me wrong. I’m not a big advocate of “New Year, New You.” If you’re old enough to read this (and you CAN in fact read), you’re already doing something right. You don’t need a “new’ you. Maybe some fine tuning – but probably not an overhaul. That mindset misses the mark. Because, I truly believe, if you’re going to make any significant changes in your life, you also need to embrace (and hold tightly to) all the things that make you wonderfully, brilliantly, perfectly you!
I don’t know who said it, but his little nugget really resonates with me: “Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about unbecoming everything that isn’t really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.”
Here’s to 2018 – a year full of positivity, motivation, friendships, love, and a few little “upgrades” along the way!
